- The search is built from three required blocks: children and adolescents, the nutrition/physical activity/weight-status domain, and measurement properties. An optional instruments block is provided for the searcher to add if the result set is too large; it is not combined because measurement studies do not always name the instrument type.
- Physical fitness (cardiorespiratory fitness, motor competence) was not included because the question asks about physical activity; add Physical Fitness and fitness terms if fitness tests are in scope.
- Acceptability was left out of the feasibility terms because it mostly retrieves intervention acceptability studies; usability is included for digital measures.
- The truncated term valid* also finds the word valid in passing mentions (e.g., 'a validated questionnaire was used'), which adds sensitivity at the cost of some screening noise.
- Infants are included because the population is all under-18s; remove the Infant heading and infant terms if the review starts at age 2.
